KAWANA SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT K150 UPGRADE PROJECT

WARANA, QLD | MONADELPHOUS / ACCIONA (UNITYWATER)

$80M ($2.2M) | MAY 2019 - APR 2020

A key sewage treatment facility in Unitywater’s service area, this major upgrade has not only expanded the plant’s capacity but incorporates Unitywater’s first waste-to-energy facility. Allstar was engaged to provide mechanical, electrical and civil scope for the new plant that incorporates sewage treatment technology meaning the current site can accommodate a larger plant as it expands over the long term.

  • Excavating around above ground infrastructure

  • Mass concrete pours up to 40m³ plus

  • Works safely delivered in parallel with other contractors (SIMOPS)

  • ZERO asset strikes

  • Challenged design to create less intensive work methodologies

  • Use of demolition robot to minimise personal entering confined space environments
