INTERIM BLENDS BULK LOADOUT FACILITY

As part of the ongoing structural integrity assessment works at Gibson Island Production Facility, a number of the bulk loadout facilities were required to be taken out of service to facilitate further detailed structural inspections and undertake necessary structural remediation works. Allstar were engaged to provide interim solutions for bulk load out of both blends and straight fertilizer products to maintain continuity in customer supply.

OUR SCOPE:

Service location and non-destructive location of below ground services
Construct concrete vehicle access road to new loadout facility
Construct new weighbridge structure and below ground drainage
Excavate, place and compact subbase for the above structures
Formwork, reinforcement, place and finish concrete
Site reinstatement, line marking, topsoiling and turfing

HIGHLIGHTS/CHALLENGES:

Accelerated delivery schedule due to the urgent nature of the works
Design and construct contract resulting in condensed time period between design approval and commencement of construction
Successfully staged the works to prevent impact on day-to-day operations
Large concrete pours in excess of 70m3 completed
Proprietary edge formwork system utilised to mitigate industry skilled labour shortages
