Our client Kenny Constructions has been engaged by the CBGU JV (CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella and UGL) to deliver various works packages as part of the Tunnels and Stations package for the Cross River Rail project. Allstar has been contracted to deliver cavern drainage works at the Boggo Road precinct in preparation for the construction of the Boggo Road tunnel. This new underground station will see Boggo Road become South East Queensland's second busiest transport interchange.
OUR SCOPE:

Excavate, lay and backfill of longitudinal and transverse underslab cavern drainage pipework using various sizes of PVC stormwater pipe (DN50 to DN300)

Install horizontal Megaflo drainage system to connect to vertical wall drainage

Install underslab Cavidrain drainage system

Waterproof structure sump using Preprufe 300R waterproofing membrane

HIGHLIGHTS/CHALLENGES:

All plant, materials and trench backfill lifted in and out of 170m long x 30m wide x 20m deep cavern using 200T crane

Operating and manoeuvring plant and resources within a congested environment and near existing infrastructure

Successfully coordinated and scheduled delivery of materials to site to coincide with works due to no laydown areas

Works safely delivered in parallel with numerous contractors and cranes dropping in materials (SIMOPS)
